SALARY RANGE: $50/hour

STATUS: Contract position for up to 10 hours a week.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Special Olympics Oregon is seeking a passionate and driven Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. As a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive community. The Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in amplifying our mission, driving engagement, and increasing awareness of our programs and events across Oregon with visually impactful content.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop compelling and engaging content for various marketing channels, including digital (email, social media, website, fundraising platforms) and print materials (posters, postcards, event collateral). Content should effectively and accessibly communicate the impact of our programs, share athlete stories, and/or promote upcoming events.
  2. Work with the Marketing Manager to produce visually appealing graphics and promotional materials using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) and Canva.
  3. Strong proficiency in creative data visualization, infographics, and illustration design.
  4. Proven ability to translate information and ideas into clear, engaging, and high-level presentations.
  5. Ensure all marketing collateral aligns with Special Olympics Oregon and Special Olympics North America branding guidelines and effectively communicates key messages.
  6. Help review content documents across all departments and Local Programs for relevancy, consistency, and brand conformity.

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Art Direction, or related field; or 4+ years in related work experience.

• 2+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in the non-profit sector or with event-based organizations.

• Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite & Canva) and digital platforms (WordPress, Classy, Constant Contact, and/or similar).

• Creative thinker with a passion for visual storytelling and a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy issues is a plus.
