Key Responsibilities: (not limited to):

  • Conducts orientations for participants in accordance with program requirements of the Youth@Work Program.
  • Determine eligibility and conduct initial assessment of youth candidates.
  • Assist and conduct outreaching, recruitment, enrollment, assessment, and placement of youth for the program.
  • Outreach to at-risk/high risk populations, e.g., justice-impacted, foster youth, unhoused youth, system involved youth, CalWORKS, low-income, etc.
  • Complete enrollment documents per program operating procedures.
  • Provide supportive services to youth, including transportation, work attire/equipment, certifications, etc.
  • Mutually develop a comprehensive Individual Employment Plan
  • Develops new worksites and/or re-establish existing worksites to create new worksites for subsidized employment. documentation, such as timesheets, performance evaluations to ensure worksite compliance.
  • Monitors and evaluates youth progress through program components.
  • Maintains an awareness of local job market and opportunities to assist in providing guidance to clients.
  • Conduct job readiness training curriculum for each cohort and record any certifications obtained.
  • Process payroll, timesheets, distribution of pay checks, uploading payroll documents per company procedures.
  • Facilitate and/or support with regional and internal collaborations
  • Meet and exceed performance and outcome goals as set by the county funding agency
  • Abide to contract requirements. Abide by Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) program directives and all federal guidelines and mandates.
  • Attend all internal, partner and County training and/or meetings when scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience: (not limited to):

  • 2 years of related working experience with high-risk, at-risk, probation, foster care, and/or low-income youth and/or parents
  • Experience working with diverse communities
  • Working with youth and/or young adults in an education, workforce, or social service setting preferred. Experience with group facilitation, & group presentations & case management.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Window/Microsoft Office environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, independently, meet deadlines, meet performance and encourage others to excel.
  • Must be passionate with helping the youth population.
  • Work flexible hours, including early morning, evenings, and weekends is required.

Requirements

Qualifications :

  • Associate’s Degree in related field, or 60 units of college credit. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Title I programs and CalJOBS preferred.
  • Complete CWDP course and exam within 3 months of employment and secure CWDP certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Sensitivity and awareness for youth culture, diversity, and youth inclusion concepts including the principles and practices of youth development preferred.
  • Travel to various locations, such as businesses, worksites, off-site meetings, and other related events

  • Bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions
  • Climb up and down stairs
  • Bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials
  • Pull, push, lift and reach both above and below shoulder height. ?
  • Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to visually inspect work.
  • Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required.
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made.

Schedule

  • Full-time (Temporary)
  • Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Occasional evenings and weekends required.
