The Maine AFL-CIO seeks a dynamic and passionate Campaigns Director to coordinate political and legislative strategy, develop and implement strategic campaigns, coordinate our Contract with Maine’s Working Class project and support our legislative, political, educational and policy work.
Overview of Responsibilities
The Campaigns Director seeks to build the collective power and improve the lives of working people by coordinating political and legislative strategy for the Maine AFL-CIO. The Director will develop strategic, high participation political and legislative campaigns; coordinate our Contract with Maine’s Working Class project; support the Maine AFL-CIO’s legislative, political and policy work; develop the leadership and deeply engage union members and working people in all aspects of the legislative and political process; support year-round policy development; and work with staff and members to run highly participatory issue and political campaigns.

The Campaigns Director is based in our Legislative & Political Department. The Campaigns Director works under the direct supervision of the Maine AFL-CIO Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Maine AFL-CIO President, Legislative and Political Director and Maine AFL-CIO staff.
This is a full time, union represented position based in our Augusta, Maine office. Hybrid work based in Maine is possible. Salary is commensurate with experience. Salary range: $56,000 – $74,000. We offer a very strong benefits package and encourage candidates to consider the total package value of the pay and benefits together.
