Scope:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Shipping team. Key responsibilities include shipping and receiving, material handling, RMAs, inventory management, training, process improvement, and ensuring employee safety. This role will work closely with both internal and external customers to meet expectations effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to create daily operational plans that optimize productivity and manage costs effectively.
  • Engage with staff daily to discuss volume expectations, workload, and other key updates through various meeting formats, including pre-shift meetings, one-on-one discussions, and written communication.
  • Oversee daily workload and allocate resources based on demand, ensuring cost efficiency, operational effectiveness, and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of customer-specific requirements and ensure all orders comply with their specifications.
  • Ensure all paperwork is accurately signed off and filed in accordance with S2G processes and controls.
  • Serve as the technical expert for departmental systems, including WMS, TMS, and GP.
  • Maintain compliance with expense budgets while managing labor and operational standards to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor performance using statistical analysis to support metric reporting and communication.
  • Support the Operations Manager in assessing operational efficiencies and recommend improvements to work methods, procedures, and controls to enhance product flow and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with Leads and Warehouse Associates to coordinate daily work assignments and objectives.
  • Design and implement a training program to ensure all employees are properly trained and proficient in all Shipping Operation processes.
  • Promote and enforce safe warehouse practices, including proper lifting techniques, housekeeping, and ergonomic awareness.
  • Supervise a team of 5 to 10 direct reports, including leads and warehouse associates, providing constructive feedback based on performance expectations.
  • Conduct and communicate annual performance reviews for direct reports while supporting their growth and development.
  • Understand, coach, and enforce company procedures, policies, rules, processes, tools, and standards (SOPs), ensuring all required training is completed for team members under supervision.
  • Inspire and support direct reports while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven at least 2 years of experience in Distribution/Warehouse management, including a minimum of 2 years supervising 5-10 direct reports and managing a temporary agency workforce.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; AA/BA degree preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, train, and provide constructive feedback to direct reports.
  • Experienced in utilizing performance reviews and management tools to enhance team skills and development.
  • Exercise sound judgment in the daily implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced, multitasking distribution environment.
  • Effectively communicate, comprehend, and execute complex tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create professional development plans, performance reviews, and performance management documents.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and hours based on business needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Ability to operate a forklift; previous experience preferred.
  • Full availability required during the holiday season from October through December, including Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, the weekend following Thanksgiving, the first two weekends of December, and the first week of January.
