Job Description

Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is partnering with a leading organization in the hospitality and entertainment industry to find a skilled Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR). This leader will shape workplace culture, oversee talent management, and ensure compliance with HR best practices, while championing initiatives that drive employee engagement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Talent Acquisition and Management

  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top-tier talent.
  • Mentor and develop team members to support organizational growth.
  • Design creative strategies to enhance recruitment, retention, and recognition.

2. Culture and Engagement

  • Foster a workplace culture focused on employee engagement and exceptional guest service.
  • Implement initiatives like engagement surveys and performance metrics to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Encourage collaboration and continuous improvement within the organization.

3. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Establish department standards and monitor progress to ensure alignment with property-wide objectives.
  • Prepare and oversee the HR department budget to ensure fiscal responsibility.

4. Compliance and Best Practices

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, safety regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of employment regulations and industry standards to uphold organizational integrity.

5. Brand and Reputation

  • Enhance the organization's employer brand through effective internal and external HR initiatives.
  • Advocate for the organization’s identity in all communications and processes.

6. Operational Excellence

  • Drive executive-level succession planning and talent development strategies.
  • Oversee HR operations, including staffing, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing HR team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in HR, with 5+ years at the director level or above required.
  • Proven abilities with HR information systems; experience with Infinium, ICIMS, and MMS/Stratton Warren is a plus.
  • Executive-level HR experience in a casino/hotel environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with strategic planning, policy writing, and financial management.
  • Knowledge of gaming industry operations and principles is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local HR-related laws and regulations.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must obtain and maintain valid gaming licenses.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience with property openings is strongly preferred.
