Job Title: Surgical Tech (Peds)

Duration: 13 weeks contract

Work Location: Syracuse, NY

Shift timing: Variable shift (Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts)

Requirement: NY Surgical Tech certificate and BLS

Job Description:

• Provide direct support during surgical procedures by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment in pediatric OR settings.
• Scrub in and assist surgeons for procedures across specialties, including: Orthopedic, General Surgery, ENT, Vascular, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Trauma, Bariatric, Genitourinar (GU)
• Ensure compliance with sterile techniques and operating room protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate procedural needs and maintain a safe, efficient surgical environment.
• Demonstrate adaptability and professionalism in a high-acuity, trauma-level setting.
• Support patient safety by adhering to hospital policies and Joint Commission standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of recent operating room experience (within the past 4 years) in an acute care facility equivalent to a Level 1 trauma center, teaching hospital, or large pediatric facility.
• Required scrub experience in general surgery and specialty procedures (ortho, neuro, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatric, GU, GYN).
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and procedures.
• Ability to function independently with minimal orientation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
