Job Description

Overview: The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides planning and service to patients and physicians in order to facilitate the scheduling and performance of surgical procedures. Responsibilities: Facilitates the scheduling of surgery cases / procedures within a hospital or out-patient surgery center. May conduct financial discussion with patients regarding fees for surgical procedures and collect surgical deposits, as per departmental guidelines. Serves as a resource to other staff regarding surgery scheduling functions and participates in training other clinic staff to cover during absences or anticipated vacancies. Schedules pre-surgical H&P per policy MS503. Surgical consent(s) management. Validate consent(s) for accuracy and completion before forwarding it to the surgical location. Serve as the email and phone contact for outside vendors. Knowledge of CPT codes, mapping of CPT codes, and Medicare guidelines related to hospital admissions. Cross train in other surgical areas. Cross trained within the department to perform tasks, such as, check-in, check-out, and phone roles. Qualifications: License/Certifications:

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is $18per hour - $29.13per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
