Job Title : Research Associate I
Job Description : As a part of the Research and Development team, t he Research Associate will participate in the development and commercialization of new technologies within the environmental and related sectors, to drive growth within the Company. Working closely with other R&D staff, candidates will conduct various tasks, including experimental setup and operation, sample preparation & analysis, product formulation, and other testing within well-defined guidelines. The results and outcomes of these tasks will be documented and communicated internally in support of new product development. Working within the R&D lab, candidates will also be required to keep a safe and clean working environment. This position is located in San Clemente, CA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Organize and execute prescribed laboratory experiments in support of developing product lines and technologies. This includes batch and soil column studies
- Perform product formulation and optimization studies
- Document all procedures, data, and results in notebooks
- Analyze results and summarize experimental data in graphs or reports
- Present experimental procedures and data in presentations as needed
- Prepare other written technical materials for external communications
- Coordinate with 3 rd party analytical labs and analyze data
- Follow laboratory compliance and safety policies
- Assist with the disposal of hazardous materials and keep records of the disposal
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
Qualifications :
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related area of engineering
- Experience or interest in environmental remedation, water treatment, and similar areas
- 0-3 years experience in an industrial research setting
- Experience with a wide range of wet chemistry laboratory practices including making solutions, titrations, and handling of volatile chemicals
- Excellent math skills and an attention to detail
- Aptitude for constructing and troubleshooting custom experimental setups
- Ability to perform calculations, use syringes, and weigh materials to prepare solutions.
- Hands on experience with laboratory instrumentation including GC/MS and UV-Visible spectrometer
- Ability to stand and work within a laboratory environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Exhibits individual initiative and the ability to work independently
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Pay/Benefits: This position will be within the range of $75,000-$95,000/year. REGENESIS offers a generous benefits program including paid time off (PTO), life insurance, health insurance for employees and their families and employees a 401K program.
