Job Description

Our client is urgently seeking a Full-Time Radiation Therapist for an immediate opening in Southern California. 

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Radiation Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy treatments while ensuring patient safety, accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory standards. This role requires technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and a patient-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure full compliance with the Code of Conduct and all compliance policies, promptly addressing any concerns or suspected violations.
  2. Accurately administer radiation therapy treatments while maintaining the highest technical standards.
  3. Process and capture orthogonal/port films as prescribed by the physician, following departmental portal vision protocols.
  4. Manage and update patient schedules, including new treatment plans, simulations, comedowns, and off-cord treatments, while keeping the appropriate team members informed.
  5. Follow all safety protocols, including proper body mechanics and lifting techniques, and report any equipment malfunctions or safety incidents immediately.
  6. Simulate patients and design custom blocking, ensuring accurate placement of immobilization devices and optimizing patient comfort for reproducibility.
  7. Perform precise treatment calculations using specialized computer systems to ensure accuracy.
  8. Maintain accurate records of radiation therapy charges and ensure proper documentation.
  9. Keep work areas clean and organized by stocking supplies, disinfecting equipment, and utilizing downtime productively.
  10. Conduct daily quality assurance (Q.A.) checks on treatment machines, simulators, and CT scanners, reporting any deviations to the physicist.
  11. Assist with charting, filing, stocking treatment rooms, and monitoring supply levels, while demonstrating flexibility in supporting team needs.
  12. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance patient and guest satisfaction, sharing insights with the Director and team members.
  13. Participate in weekly chart rounds and contribute actively when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certified Radiation Therapist (ARRT or equivalent certification)
  • Experience in radiation therapy treatment and patient care
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate compassion
  • ARRT; CA License; Varian Equipment
