The Department of Children and Families' Office of Quality and Innovation serves as the catalyst for strengthening performance statewide, supporting a robust workforce and fostering positive outcomes for Florida Families. We are seeking a collaborative, action-oriented , and transparent professional to join its team of quality reviewers within the Office of Quality . This is a highly responsible role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of Florida’s child welfare practices, and working knowledge of relevant federal child welfare laws and policies.

 

MINIMUM QU A LIFICATION S:

  • Active Child welfare professional certification through the Florida Certification Board
  • Bachelor 's degree required , preferably in Human Services or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Florida’s child welfare system.
  • Working knowledge of relevant Florida statutes, administrative codes, and child welfare operating procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, FSFN, and CCWIS.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience in case management and child protective investigations.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Background in other DCF program areas, such as behavioral health, substance abuse, adult services, or economic self-sufficiency.
  • Experience conducting structured case reviews and assessments.

 

DUTIE S AN D RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct quality reviews capturing requirements from federal, state, and departmental laws and policies.
  • Use platforms such as Qualtrics to enter review findings and notify supervisor promptly when findings indicate urgent action.
  • Maintain highly confidential and sensitive information with integrity and adherence to privacy protocols.
  • Analyze case findings or review outcomes and communicate results through formal memo reports with clarity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with operational staff through consultations, quality improvement events, and routine engagement with frontline personnel .
  • Contribute to the development, testing, and refinement of review tools and evaluation methodologies.
  • Attend specialized training courses to enhance job knowledge.
  • Seek ongoing professional development opportunities to support growth in role.
  • Apply analytical skills to assess and document the quality of work and decision making by frontline staff, in alignment with governing standards.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and pol i cies regarding child welfare serv ices
  • Familiarity with cross-program practices including behavioral health , domestic violence, adult protective services and economic self- sufficiency.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles and their application across programs.
  • Ability to organize, synthesize, and present complex information clearly.
