DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Aviation Security (AvSec) team is seeking an enthusiastic, AvSec leader to join the team as the Program Manager (PM) - AvSec Policy and Procedure. In this role, you will be responsible for policy, standard, and procedure drafting and distribution for AvSec across Amazon’s global aviation activities and reviewing the compliance of programs, manuals, and training with regulatory and Amazon requirements. The position may also serve as an auditor in accordance with the Amazon AvSec Quality Assurance (QA) program.

The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Sr. PM, Security Management System (SeMS), other Policy and Procedure PMs and field AvSec teams in developing the documented frameworks used to execute on global security programs at Amazon. This position will require strong communication and analytical skills with a focus on regulatory compliance, technical writing, and training development.

Key job responsibilities
The PM - AvSec Policy and Procedure, drafts policies, standards, procedures and supporting documentation for AvSec in close coordination with Amazon Air (AIR), Prime Air (PA), and Global Security Operations (GSO) teams. The role acts as a knowledge transfer champion for AvSec ensuring team members have the tools and skills necessary to execute the mission. In partnership with the other SeMS and Policy and Procedure team members, you will also share the responsibility for developing communications programs, creating and delivering training material, establishing tracking and reporting mechanisms, and collaborating with partner organizations to ensure alignment of all standards and procedures used across Amazon’s aviation operations with regulatory and company requirements.

Eligibility Qualifications
• Individuals hired into this position will have unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA). For this reason, eligibility for this role will be limited to individuals who pass a security screening, as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) (as applicable).
• This position requires an employee’s full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute their job duties to ensure the safety and security of Amazon AIR personnel, third-party contractors, Airport personnel, cargo, and equipment. This position is therefore designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and, where permitted, post-hire drug testing.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 20% of the time.

A day in the life
As a PM - AvSec Policy and Procedure, you will work on new and revised standard, procedure, and guidance documentation incorporating feedback from the field AvSec teams and the SeMS program to drive the highest standards. You will develop the implementation, training, and communication plans and materials for these changes and ensure they are executed on time and with the appropriate level of support provided to your customers in the field. You will manage AvSec’s field intake mechanisms for documentation and communication needs and engage with the field to provide centralized support in both local and systemic documentation, assessment, and change management. You may be tasked with performing quality assurance audits at an Amazon aviation operation or to facilitate a training session.

By supporting our customer teams across Amazon’s aviation operations to implement process improvements, mitigate risk, resolve equipment issues, and implement new processes to improve performance, AvSec contributes to safe and secure transportation of air cargo to our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor degree or 3+ years of experience in a security related field.
- 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following disciplines: corporate security management, transportation/supply chain operations (airline ops), FAA/TSA interaction or aviation security.
- Understanding of aviation security operating practices, regulations and standards (International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), US and foreign regulatory programs), cargo airline operations, airport operations.
- Experience with all Microsoft Office applications.
