The lab utilizes genomic and transcriptomic sequencing to elucidate the underlying drivers of advanced pediatric cancers and sarcomas to guide targeted therapy recommendations for individual patients and further develop precision medicine and immunotherapy for children with cancer.

Please be sure to include your cover letter as to your interest in working with Dr. Janeway's lab and your experience related to genomic and transcriptomic sequencing.

The position is based at DFCI with collaborations at Boston Children?s Hospital, Brigham and Women?s Hospital, and the Broad Institute. The post-doc will work with other laboratory members and internal and external collaborators.

  • Contribute to innovative "genomic medicine reports" to summarize the findings that will be returned to patients? physicians, if needed
  • Review the literature and write and deposit evidence-based genomic annotations associated with genomic alterations based on frequency, function, and clinical relevance to a master genomics knowledgebase
  • With a multi-disciplinary team, contribute variant curation expertise to data analysis for manuscripts describing novel research findings, including manuscript preparation
  • Responsible for developing projects and associated proposals and contributing to related budgets and regulatory IRB submissions
  • Responsible for submitting data requests both internally (ex. OncDRS and BCH) and externally (NCI Target & dbGaP)
  • Support deposition of data into data repositories such as NCI dbGaP
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and data integrity of patient information, which may include medical and/or genetic testing information

This position represents an outstanding career development opportunity for researchers with a genetics/genomics or molecular pathology background interested in precision (or "personalized") medicine, clinical genomics, and clinical research.

  • Doctorate in genetics or cancer biology

  • The candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, possess excellent analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
