Position Title: Entry-Level Police Officer

Benefits
Unique Benefit: The Village covers 50% of retiree health insurance premiums for officers aged 50 with 20 years of credible service until the retiree reaches 65.

Salary
Starting pay ranges from $74,513 to $106,966, plus longevity, per the current collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Requirements
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Proof of citizenship is required if not U.S.-born.
Driver's License: Valid driver's license required at application; Illinois Driver's License required at hire.
Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years old by the application deadline and under 35 at testing time. Veterans may exceed the age limit based on years of active duty, up to 10 years.
Education: High School Diploma or GED, plus a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university.
P.O.W.E.R. Card: Valid P.O.W.E.R. Card required.
Character: Must possess good moral character and be physically and psychologically suited for the role.
Residency: New hires must establish residency within the designated area—east of Lake Michigan, west of IL Route 47, north to the Wisconsin border, and south to I-80—within six months after completing the 18-month probationary period.
