Facilities Maintenance Manager- Manufacturing setting

Location: Mid-Eastern Wisconsin

Salary: $110,000- $120,000 (doe)

Our Fortune 250 dairy food manufacturing client is hiring a Maintenance/Facilities Manager for their plant near Sheboygan, WI. This pivotal role will lead maintenance and reliability initiatives to optimize productivity. Responsibilities include managing site assets, overseeing facility maintenance, equipment upgrades, and ensuring all production resources are readily available.

The Maintenance/Facilities Manager will collaborate with Engineering, plant management, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), and Quality teams to define project scopes, prepare capital requests, and estimate expenses. Additional duties include selecting contractors and vendors, designing processes, specifying and purchasing equipment, and overseeing project timelines from start to completion. The role will have three direct reports and 13 indirect reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or food processing, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial plant, including at least 3 years in a leadership position. Alternatively, an associate’s degree in a mechanical/utilities field with 7+ years of technical maintenance experience, including people management and capital project leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of dairy or food manufacturing processes.
• Experience with food, dairy, or chemical manufacturing involving Process Safety Management (PSM) for ammonia refrigeration systems, with technical expertise in refrigeration systems, maintenance, equipment installations, and plant utilities.
• Strong project management experience, including manufacturing processes and facilities construction.

Key Skills:

• Proficiency in process control, electrical systems, and mechanical aptitude; knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Experience in project planning and execution.
• RETA Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) certification or ability to obtain the certification, or similar training, is preferred.
• Ability to enhance the technical skills of maintenance staff across shifts.
• Familiarity with FDA and OSHA regulations, GMPs, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.
