Job Description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a skilled Kronos Engineer to provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 operations and maintenance support for Kronos time clocks. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and updating Kronos clocks using the Kronos Workforce software. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective operation of timekeeping systems.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for troubleshooting and resolving Kronos time clock hardware and software issues.
  • Utilize Kronos Workforce software to connect, diagnose, and repair time clock connectivity and functionality problems.
  • Perform software updates, patches, and firmware upgrades for Kronos time clocks.
  • Assist in the configuration and deployment of new Kronos clocks across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Tier 1 support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Analyze system logs and conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.
  • Develop and implement solutions for high-level technical challenges related to Kronos systems.
  • Monitor system performance and generate reports to identify potential problems before they impact operations.
  • Work closely with IT and HR teams to ensure seamless timekeeping system functionality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting procedures, fixes, and configurations.
  • Provide recommendations for system improvements and optimizations.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures when handling sensitive employee data.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and two years work experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
  • 5+ years of experience working with Kronos Workforce software and time clocks, including Tier 3/application support.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting Kronos hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with software updates, patches, and firmware upgrades for Kronos clocks.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts related to time clock connectivity.
  • Ability to analyze system logs and diagnose hardware/software issues.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with users and support teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SQL databases and scripting (preferred but not required).
  • Eligible for a Public Trust/Entry On Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification or ability to obtain withing 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Kronos Workforce Central or Dimensions Certification.
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+ (preferred but not required).

Work Environment:

  • Remote role.
  • On-call support may be required for critical system issues.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
