Occupational Therapist - FMLA Opportunity Awaits

Caseload: K-8 Students

Schedule: Up to 37.5 hours per week (Guaranteed Hours)

Role Breakdown:

• Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, progress, and treatment objectives.
  
• Recommend adaptive tools and environmental adjustments to support student engagement and participation.
  
• Deliver targeted therapy sessions focused on fine motor development, sensory integration, and functional independence.
  
• Collaborate with educators and parents, contributing insights during IEP meetings and developing intervention strategies.
  
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ motor, sensory, and cognitive abilities to design personalized therapy plans.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution and hold a valid Illinois state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist. Prior experience working with K-12 students in a school setting is highly preferred. A solid understanding of child development, educational assessments, and school-based therapeutic interventions is crucial. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the role involves partnering with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to foster student success.
