Salary Information:

Firefighter/Paramedic $86,425 -$122,759 (8 steps)
Firefighter/EMT B $77,782-$87,396

Department Overview

Countryside is a progressive Fire/Rescue agency that responds to over 5,200 calls for service annually from 2 stations. Our professional force of 46 full-time career Firemedics train to ensure readiness in firefighting, ALS EMS transport, technical rescue, water/dive rescue, hazardous materials, and disaster response. The District has been accredited by CPSE since 1998 and is an ISO class 2.

The Countryside Fire Protection District covers 23 square miles in Lake County Illinois that includes portions of Vernon Hills, Hawthorn Woods, Long Grove, Indian Creek, Kildeer, and unincorporated areas of Lake County with a combined EAV of $2 Billion.

Age: Applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of hire and under thirty-five (35) years of age on the last date of submission of applications for original appointment unless otherwise provided by state or federal law.

Necessary Certifications: EMT Basic Certified at time of application, Valid CPAT with Ladder climb at time of hire.
