We are looking for an Electrical Power Systems (EPS) Engineer to support Gateway's Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) project. HALO is the first pressurized module for NASA's Gateway, an outpost that will orbit the moon and provide a temporary home and workplace for astronauts.
This is your chance to be an interface, or bridge, between the EPS and flight software teams. You will need to learn HALO's EPS system and how it works. Then, you will help review/tailor the software algorithms to ensure the software is performing the required functions at the correct time. This is an oversight role that will not need to write software/code, but will need to understand what is needed, review it, and provide comments.
We have an exciting opportunity for a EPS for HALO to join the team!
The EPS for HALO will:
Ensure requirements are satisfied by the software design solutions by reading pseudo-code and functions
Have system level EPS experience and be knowledgeable of flight software
Be involved in algorithm making
Understand and review test results from EPS/Software testing (results look code-like)
Perform other duties as required
Requisition Qualifications:

Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.
Technical (EPS & Software) System Level EPS experience required - Knowledge of electrical systems engineering principles
(NASA) Flight software experience required - Knowledge of software engineering principles C programming experience
Experience with (spacecraft) power systems
Demonstrate problem-solving background with accompanying troubleshooting skill
Proficient with MS Office and MS Teams (for virtual meetings)
Excellent communication skills (in person and in writing
Be a self-starter who doesn't require a lot of hand holding
Ability to communicate effectively across different teams
Experience fostering a collaborative team environment
Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules
Must be willing to work onsite at Johnson Space Center
Requisition Preferences:
Some Simulink/Matlab experience preferred
Some knowledge of Time Triggered Ethernet a plus
NASA/Space experience preferred
Knowledge of commonly used NASA concepts, practices, processes, and procedures
