New Song is a thriving, 2-campus church in Oceanside, CA. We’re multi-ethnic,
multigenerational, near the beach (70-degree weather all year-long). On-average,
we’re seeing two people per day (730+ per year) pray to receive Christ, and we’re
obsessed with reaching lost people and developing them into fully devoted followers
of Christ. Our staff is joyful and unified, and God’s Spirit is strong in our midst. If

Job Objective
To facilitate expanding New Song’s mission of reaching unchurched people for Christ
and helping people become fully devoted followers of Christ specifically in the area of
youth and young adults.
Responsibilities
General
o Manage, equip and encourage dynamic teams of staff and volunteers.
o Build relationships with the larger church community and be an
ambassador for the ministries of focus.
Youth
o Develop and implement creative and exciting Next Gen (Youth/YA)
programs and environments.
o Provide a safe and secure environment where Next Gen feel free to grow
in Christ.
o Plan and conduct weekly services and groups.
o Develop student leaders that help lead Next Gen ministry and impact
ministries in and around New Song.
o Partner with public school on-campus activities or clubs to build
relationships with non-churched youth.
o Plan special events that foster spiritual and personal growth such as a
winter retreat, summer missions experience, or others.
o Follow up with new students and also students who have fallen through
the cracks.
Young Adults
o Develop and implement creative and effective Young Adults (YA) ministry
programs and environments.
o Help plan and conduct life groups/gatherings for YA.
o Provide care, growth, and leadership for YA.
o Create pathways for YAs to reach their peers for Christ.
Other duties as assigned by the Next Gen Pastor or Executive Pastor.
Qualifications
Character above reproach.
Working towards Bachelor’s degree/equivalent Youth Ministry experience.
High energy and self-motivated.
Spiritual gifts in leadership and teaching preferred.
Love for both Christian and unchurched students.
Willingness to partner with Public Schools.
Culturally aware and creative.
Ability to develop and lead groups and teams.
Passionate about connecting youth and parents to the church.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong people skills.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and some knowledge
in service production suites (ProPresenter).
Ability to work with Pastoral Staff to assist in executing the church’s vision for
the youth ministry.
Ability to develop strong relationships with congregants.
Endorse and support New Song’s mission, vision, values, and statement of faith
and become/remain a member in good standing of New Song Community
Church.
Title
Depending upon experience and education, this position may carry the title of
“director” or “pastor.”
For a candidate who is not yet a pastor, a path towards licensure/ordination
may be considered.
