Job Description: CYBERSECURITY ANALYST

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Cybersecurity Analyst, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Department of State. You will play a crucial role in cyber security and network monitoring.
HOW A NETWORK OPERATION CENTER ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Monitor system performance and availability using system monitoring tools.
Perform initial triage of system alerts to determine their severity and impact.
Respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and resolving system issues.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes.
Escalate incidents to higher-tier technicians or engineering teams as necessary.
Document incident details, actions taken, and lessons learned for future reference and analysis.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your cyber expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Cybersecurity Analyst must have:
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree: Security +CE
Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 or Information Assurance Manager Level 1 or obtain and approved Incident Responder certification within 6 months of the date of hire
Technical Training, Certifications, or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2 year (4+ preferred) technical experience
1 years of helpdesk experience
Department of State employee or contractor experience preferred but not required
User experience with system monitoring tools such Splunk and ScienceLogic.
User experience with Tenable Security Center and Symantec Endpoint Protection
Familiarity of Cisco Switches and Firewalls and VMWare Products
Working knowledge of various operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux.
Strong understanding of network, compute, and storage concepts.
Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
