The Role

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic experienced Engineer who has direct working knowledge of Core Networks  to include Circuit Switching, Packet Switching, SIP, VOLTE and messaging (SMS) and  is committed to their work and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly flexible environment. The role will be responsible for the support and expansion of a global core network. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with strong Telecoms experience to demonstrate their technical and organisational ability, working in a small team of experienced engineers at the cutting edge of IoT technologies.

In this role you will be:

  • Responsible for supporting the Cubic core network elements. Performing troubleshooting and analysis of network incidents.

  • Providing input and collaborating with other team members developing, implementing, integrating, and monitoring network team projects.

  • Expanding the network monitoring capability.

  • Ensuring consistent uptime of the core network.

  • Acting as a key point of contact for vendors and other Cubic teams.

  • Participating in knowledge transfer to and from fellow engineers.

Requirements

  • Experience in Packet Core, specially in Policy and charging domain for at least 3 years

  • In depth experience with PCRF product and diameter, Gx, Rx, Sy protocols.

  • Network integration of a PCRF to other network elements including PGW, SPR, OCS, SNMP manager, etc.

  • Networking protocols including TCP/IP, Routing, and Firewalls

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to analyse technical problems around product installation, configuration, integration.

  • Experience with Unix and/or Linux

  • Experience with LLD, MOP and Test document creation

  • Experience with analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of system hardware, software and networking issues.

  • Proven track record in working with small teams.

  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting network issues.

  • Excellent documentation skills.

  • Desire to learn from and collaborate with peers.

  • Excellent spoken and written English.

  • Previous experience working to aggressive timelines essential.

  • Commitment to provide a high quality and professional service.

  • Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for the completion of tasks.

  • Ability to prioritise work tasks.

  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.

  • Effective problem-solving skills.

  • Availability to support out-of-hours work where required and on-call rota.
