Job Description



AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Field Engineer, Latham, NY.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing construction projects within the Hudson Valley and Upstate Regions of New York.
  • Manage construction engineering functions for projects under NYSDOT, NYSTA, NYS Parks, and/or private initiatives.
  • Ensure strict adherence to construction plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and compliance with approved guidelines.
  • Be prepared for diverse assignments that may involve work in remote or challenging terrain environments.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on project status, milestones, and operation.
  • Utilize tools such as ARCGIS and SiteManager to track progress effectively.
  • Monitor and report any impacts on endangered species or environmental incidents at the project site.
  • Collaborate with environmental departments to mitigate any adverse effects.
  • May telecommute.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Construction Field Engineer-related occupation.
  • In the alternative, the employer is willing to accept a Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Construction Field Engineer-related role.

Position requires experience in the following:

  1. NYSDOT MURK procedures and Site Manager Application
  2. Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques including material testing and acceptance (soil and concrete), recordkeeping procedures and material certification criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
  3. ARCGIS and SiteManager
  4. Performing walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.
  5. Performing quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
  6. Providing technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.
