Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Support : Conduct all aspects of radiation therapy physics, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Equipment Management : Perform calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
  • Quality Assurance : Maintain rigorous quality assurance programs for equipment and treatment delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with NRC and state regulations, as well as ACRO and AAPM guidelines.

  • Varian Linacs : EDGE (New), Trilogy, Varisource HDR
  • GE Lightspeed CT Simulator
  • Software : Aria-EMR, Eclipse-Planning, Rad Calc, RPM motion management system


Qualifications:

  • Board Certification : Required
  • Clinical Experience : At least five years preferred
  • Technical Expertise : Demonstrated skills in IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SBRT, and other advanced techniques
  • Performance Management : Lead the development and documentation of performance specifications, procedures, testing tolerances, and testing frequencies for all therapy equipment, ensuring top-notch operational standards.
  • Expert Consultation : Provide expert advice to Radiation Oncologists on the physical and radiobiological aspects of treatment, translating complex treatment plans into clear, actionable instructions for radiation therapists.
  • Innovative Design : Oversee the design, fabrication, and precise measurement of treatment beam modifiers and aids, contributing to cutting-edge treatment solutions.
  • Clinical Practice Support : Play a pivotal role in the clinical practice of Radiation Oncology Physics and dosimetry, including equipment usage, selection, and replacement.
  • Team Leadership : Manage physics and dosimetry staff requirements, assignments, and recruitment, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
  • Program Management : Oversee program operations, budget preparation, and continuous review of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care and efficiency.

Qualifications:

A Master's or PhD degree in Medical Physics and a minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience is required.
  • Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Therapy Physics or Radiological Physics, American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).


Must meet qualified expert criteria defined by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State radiation agency.

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
