Job Summary :
As a bartender at Il Giglio Tribeca, you will play a crucial role in creating a memorable dining experience by delivering exceptional service, preparing crafted cocktails, and showcasing knowledge of our premium beverage selection. You will be expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, presentation, and guest interaction, all while contributing to the warm, sophisticated ambiance of our upscale Italian restaurant.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare and Serve Drinks : Mix, garnish, and serve a variety of cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and service standards. Ensure that all drinks are presented with attention to detail and flair.
• Guest Service Excellence : Provide attentive, personalized service to guests seated at the bar or dining area, including suggesting drink pairings and answering questions about the menu or cocktails.
• Knowledge of Italian Wines and Spirits : Demonstrate a strong understanding of Italian wines, liqueurs, and other premium spirits, with the ability to recommend them to guests based on their preferences.
• Maintain Bar Cleanliness : Keep the bar area clean, organized, and stocked. Ensure that all glassware and bar equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Upsell and Cross-Sell : Promote the restaurant’s signature cocktails, wines, and menu items in an engaging manner to enhance the guest experience and contribute to sales goals.
• Handle Cash and Payments : Accurately process orders and transactions, including handling cash and processing credit card payments. Ensure all tips and sales are properly recorded.
• Collaborate with Team Members : Work closely with the service staff, kitchen, and management to ensure a smooth operation and timely service.
• Maintain Professional Appearance : Dress in a neat, clean, and polished manner, adhering to the restaurant’s uniform policy.
• Stock Management : Assist in inventory management by keeping track of stock levels and helping with ordering as needed.

Qualifications :

• Previous experience as a bartender in a successful upscale, fine dining, or Italian restaurant environment is necessary.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, Italian wines, aperitifs, and spirits.
• Ability to assist with crafting new cocktails.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• TIPS & Food Handler
• Passion for Italian cuisine, wine, and culture is a plus.
• Italian speaking a major plus.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to stand, walk, and pivot for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and move about the bar area quickly.

Work Environment :

• Upscale, fast-paced, and sophisticated restaurant atmosphere.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Lunch and weekend shifts required.
